Dear PATT Supporter,
We had some great times last month with Fun Day (27 Feb) at Bangkok Patana School, three great days planting trees with the Year 1 students from NIST in Phra Pradaeng, and we have teamed up with International Parenting Network who aim to improve access to support and resources for parents in the Bangkok area. They pledge to plant a tree for each new member joining them this year. So if you have children at an international school in Bangkok, consider IPN.
Tabanan, Indonesia project kicks off! – The slopes of Mount Batucaru have the largest areas of reasonably intact wet rainforests on Bali. To date, it has proven impossible to gain permission to work inside these forests. Only now have we gained the first agreements to begin working there. This project proposes to plant 4,000 native trees in the forest adjacent to the village, Desa Sarinbuana in the Tabanan Regency. The people of Sarinbuana decided some time ago to protect the forest for which they are responsible. It is considered to be perhaps the best example so far of a local community committing to forest preservation.
