At RangBua Temple
In November the Loy Kratong festival takes place in Thailand. This event always starts in the evening when the people (incl. ourselves) gently launch their candles vessels onto the river. Last Saturday we joined our first Loy Kratong. YES it was an amazing effect.

“Loy” means “to float” and a “Krathong” is a lotus-shaped vessel! The funny thing is that on the Loy Kratong vessel most people add some lucky money. (usually Thai Baht coins) As a result we saw some children swimming while they collecting the lucky money. We also saw older people in their boats collecting coins.
At the same time there was night market with nice snacks, games, vendors and shows including a Miss Loy Katong show.
Floating a krathong will create good luck, and it is to honor and thank the Goddess of Water, Phra Mae Khongkha. Read more about this on wikipedia.. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loy_Krathong
