Hua Hin opened its first floating market on a man-made 50-rai plot on Soi Hua Hin 112, along Nhong Hoi-Thab Tai local road and about 6 kilometres from Huahin. The official name is: “Sam Phan Nam Hua Hin Floating Market“.
There is a huge parking lot for buses and cars. On 12 hectare land they have more than 150 food stalls and souvenir shops available. It looks more like a tourist attraction, where young (Thai) people take photos with there smart phones to upload to Facebook, rather than a real Thai Market. The items you can buy here are not very different from the souvenirs in Huahin city.
Highlights at the market:
* Traditional dance show in the water with Thai music,
* water-cycles for rent
* a train around the lake through the market.
* the products
For some (mysterious) reason they have decided to build two floating markets in the same area so make sure that you visit both of them while you are there!
