Floating Market; Many Bangkok floating Markets were formed as a result of the easy water transport accessiblity in Bangkok. The city use to have (30 years ago) thousands of cannels which made water transportation easy and popular. Unfortunatley many of those water cannels have disappeared due to development. Floating markets still exists and it is worth visiting!
Be aware: that the famous floating Market (’Damnoen Saduak’) is loaded with tourists after 9am. So go early! This one is also not near Bangkok.
